We were nervous attending HF with our 15-year old daughter especially due the questionable reviews but our experience over 2-1/2 months turned out to be very positive. When entering HF, chances are things are a bit in crisis as they were for us, so it’s a traumatic time and let’s face it, no one wants to be there. The program is also very much geared to crisis management versus intensive individualized therapy but we stuck with it and after 4-6 weeks, we saw a big improvement. Our daughter advanced there in a way she didn’t in the 18-months of regular therapy that preceded it and we are grateful. Helped us immensely.
I like the place and it's helping me. The counselors are great. I don't understand what everyone else is talking about. A one star...really??? If you don't make an effort, or use the information they give you, and put into action, then you will get nothing from it. Its on the indivudual. Overall, I like it and would recommend to another addict seeking help.
Pretty much told me, if I can't do her 2-3 week program (monday through friday, 11am-4pm) she could not help me with anxiety. What working adult can take that much time off? Also no weekend hours unless you are an alcoholic. Absolutely absurd. Don't bother, this place is useless if you are a working adult.
Worst experience of my life. Lazy staff, rude doctor. Treat you like a kindergartener. Giving them 1 star is even more than I wanted. They deserve a ZERO star
High focus gets less than 1 star!!! They caused more problems and time and were not helpful or honest in this situation. My son attended this center for 8 weeks (6 weeks paid by my insurance). They informed me that my son's treatment would conclude after the 6 weeks which was when my insurance stopped paying. Then they stated they didn't want to end his treatment abruptly and they could give him an additional 6 sessions (2 weeks) if I could pay for it, which I told them I could not afford their fees ($1800 per week) and declined the offer. They insisted on seeing him for the 2 weeks based on what I could afford to pay. I informed them what I could afford and they agreed but I was told it had to be approved. It wasn't "approved" until the LAST DAY of his treatment at which time Grace Lee told me the amount was DOUBLED and that I had to pay it. I informed her that it was not ethical nor appropriate to continue seeing him unless the amount that I informed her that I could pay was okay especially since she told me it would be no problem. I also asked how could they double what I told them I could afford especially since THEY insisted on continuing his treatment for 2 weeks knowing that I couldn't afford anything more than what I told them. Grace mentioned it was up to her Director. I have made every attempt to contact them in this regard to no avail. They do not respond and when i have reached someone they tell me they will get back to me but do not. I have no problem paying what I agreed to pay but doubling the amount is outrageous. It is quite unfortunate that this company is more in the business of money and taking advantage of parents already under duress instead of helping with the issue at hand. Bottom line.... don't bother with High Focus!!!
